The guest of honor…Bindi!

Even though spring break has not yet officially started half of my friends has already fled the cold and headed out to somewhere warm and by now I guess they are sipping on a Margarita by the pool and sucking in every ounce of vitamin D. Now you might think I am a little bit bitter but nooooo I’m a swede, right and suppose to love the cold…*cough*

So instead of tagging along to Aruba, an Island you apparently can’t do that much, except of eating great food, drinking, swimming and hanging at the spa…we decided to look after our friends beautiful dog Bindi.


She came last night and the kids got really excited but it threw me little off routine this morning but that was ok because after three days of working the legs I thought I give them a break from running. I was also expecting a visit to have some work done in the house so instead of going to the gym I put the old elliptical to use for 60 minute and I have to admit, it was sooo boring. I stuck with it as I was catching up on Chicago Fire and although I didn’t give it my all my legs still felt wobbly when I was done. With 50 minutes till I had to get Mira from school me and Bindi went for a long frigid walk in the sun and I have to say … Vitamin D is still Vitamin D 🙂



A long lovely weekend ahead of me…

I am having a long weekend of rest but before I could put my leg up on the coach I had to kill ‘em first! I came in early and did a fairly moderate cardio warm up on the elliptical as I really wanted to give it all. With spring break coming up I think everyone wants to make sure to get the work in so we were a big group of 6 girls today and overall the warehouse was pretty crowded. So we didn’t use any machines today it just means that you have to make sure that you pick appropriate weights that still would challenge you.

In every circuit we mixed the legs with core work which was great because even though I am not going anywhere except to the gym over the break I have the summer to think about that is hopefully just around the corner 😉

The last 10-15 minutes we mainly focused on the legs and getting the heart working with step-ups, walking launches and the bike. I do like the mix in with the cardio because although we didn’t use any weight the legs were already spent and every walking launch felt like the legs was on fire. I guess my weekend can start now and lets see if I can stay away from the gym without suffering withdrawal syndrome…lol!

Spring break is just around the corner and who wants a saggy ass then???

Today it was only half the group as T and L was sick. I really felt sorry for them, not only for being sick but also for missing out on a fierce workout! It was no core warm-up today; we went straight on hitting the legs hard doing squats with a weighted barbell by pyramiding the weights starting at 65 lbs. working up to 105 lbs. I am not a big fan of squats because I just don’t have the technique. One of the reason why is because that my calves are overdeveloped from my years of being a gymnast and standing on my toes.

When we were done with the quads we started working the hamstrings doing Romanian deadlifts and curls and it was now when the “real butt workout” really started! So Jonathan’s idea was to exhaust the hammies so when we started doing our 40 walking launches with 2x15lbs kettle bells then 30 WL 2×35 lbs. followed 20 WL 2×30 lbs. to finish without weights for the entire length of the gym, a roughly guess would be 60-70 WL we were really focusing on that ass of ours!

Walking back to get my water bottle I was joking that I was not having any blood left in my head because it was all in my legs and I was walking like a 80 year-old…lol. After a short rest not thinking I could crank anything more out of the legs we worked the leg extensions and the leg press.

The last and final two exercise we did we put the focus back on the glut again and all of a sudden it felt like I was back in the that old stinking gymnastic hall kicking my leg up behind my head but now not so high and with a weight attached to my leg.

I am actually not going anywhere on spring break but I will be thinking of all of you who are. Meanwhile I keep on focusing on that behind of mine because although the summer feels like it is far away, it will be here before we know it and I will then be squeezing it into bikini for sure!
