Straight after yesterdays workout me and the kids shot down to the United Center for all the Wilmette Mites players to play scrimmage before the Chicago Blackhawks game and what an amazing experience!
The boys and the girls got their own hockey jersey with the Blackhawks Indian and got to change in the looker room were they meet Bryan Bickell. Then they got to play for an entire hour on the ice while all the parents and the sibling got to sit at 100 level and watch them. Every time someone scored the loud horn sounded and the kids could watch themselves on the Jumbotron over their heads.
After the game we were not allowed to leave the United Center and for anyone who had ever been at an arena you know there is not a lot of food that is not fried. I did manage to order a roast beef sandwich without the bread and I did cheat a little as I had a few chips, well well. Freddie took Knut and a couple of his friend to watch when the Blackhawks was warming up when Patrick Kane shot a puck over the glass and Knut caught the puck!
When the game started all the kids were sitting together and were having so much fun. In between the 2nd and 3rd period they were showing the scrimmage game on the Jombotron and the first goal they showed from the game was when Knut scored. Like I said the entire day was amazing and will be a memory for life!
