I absolutely hate it when I don’t wake up by the alarm or I choose to ignore it! I woke up at 8.15 and the school bus leaves at 8.30 and I have to give it to the kids as they were dolls this morning, they got dressed without any fuss, had breakfast, jumped in the car and made it for the bell!
Me on the other hand did not get any breakfast and we had moved our workout to 9.30 so the only thing I could do was to go straight to the warehouse, put my head down and work it hard. There was no joking around today so we went to business mixing cardio and strength training without any rest for the entire hour.
We only had one circuit but it was a long and fun one with 8 different movements. As soon as it was completed we jumped on the bikes for 3 minutes standing with a moderate resistant and then on the treadmill for another 3 minutes.
We all started working different muscle groups and I started working the core with pulling your legs up, crunches on a decline bench and chops. This was very well planned because non of the ladies had to stand around to wait for the next one to be done so as soon as I was finished I moved into the wheel. It is really heavy but it is so much fun just like using the sledgehammer. I think if you have any aggressions in your body this is a great way to let it out! Now, I did not have any but it was a great way to wake up. On the way back we did weighted walking lunges.
My last station I was working with a 12 pound medicine ball and it may be deceiving but after pushing the wheel down the gym both your legs and your arms have had a fair share of work. First we did step up on this soft wiggly bench so not only did you have the extra weight you also have to stabilize when stepping up, this way it is a little more challenging. We kept on working the legs and shoulders with a squat to press to finish it off with throwing the ball into the wall and this is now when the lactic acid start to make it self remembered 🙂
I just love this kind of workout because your heart rate stays high throughout, it is almost like you how you could use your body in everyday life…just almost 😉
